Tennessee tops Georgia in FCA’s Border War

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted the Border War Thursday, December 19, at Fannin County High School’s Rebel Stadium. Team Tennessee consisted of seniors from Bradley County, Cleveland High, Polk County, Walker Valley, Meigs, McMinn, McMinn Central and Copper Basin.

Rebels named All Region

The Fannin County High School Rebels football team recently had eight players to make the Region 7-AAA First Team All Region. Offensive linemen Mason Bunday and Miles Johnson made the first team, as well as Luke Holloway for his punting skills.

The Fannin County Rebels hosted the East Hall Vikings Tuesday, December 17. Fannin started out strong, but East Hall was able to hold the Rebels off as Fannin lost 61-54 to the region rival.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team hosted the East Hall Lady Vikings for a region matchup Tuesday, December 17. For the Lady Rebels, a win would put them at 3-2 in conference play on the season.

Rebels late effort not enough against Bears

The Rebels basketball team host a region matchup against the Cherokee Bluff Bears on Friday, December 13. The Rebels played well for four quarters, but the Bears came out winning the game 61-54.

Cougars come back against Patriots

The Copper Basin Cougars basketball team hosted the Chattanooga Patriots Thursday, December 12. Copper Basin got off to a slow start, but came back in the second half to win the game 50-42. Senior Jacob Spurling led the Cougars in the first quarter, scoring a three point bomb from deep.

The Copper Basin Lady Cougar basketball team hosted the Chattanooga Patriots Thursday, December 12. The Lady Cougars played well to start the game, but a 15-point fourth quarter led Copper Basin to a 41-35 win.

Lady Cougars top CSAS

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars basketall team traveled to Chattanooga Tuesday, December 10, to take on the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences Lady Patriots. The Lady Cougars started out strong and never let up in the district game, topping the Lady Patriots 51-43.

Rebels finish in top eight at McCallie Invitational

The Fannin County Rebels wrestling team traveled to Robbinsville, North Carolina Monday, December 9, to take on the Black Knights. For the Rebels, a win would put their record at 19-4 on the year and give Fannin momentum heading into the McCallie Invitational.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team hosted the Lumpkin County Lady Indians Tuesday, December 10, for a region matchup. The Lady Rebels came out strong on both sides of the ball, winning the game 51-38.
