The Fannin County Rebels basketball team traveled to North Murray High School to compete in the North Murray Christmas Tournament December 19-21. The Rebels started the tournament against McMinn County Thursday, December 19. Fannin started out strong, but fell to the Cherokees 76-46.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team traveled to North Murray High School to compete in the North Murray Christmas Tournament December 19-21. After a 67-63 loss to McMinn Thursday, December 19, the Lady Rebels played North Murray Friday, December 20.

Rebels finish first at ‘Fight Before Christmas’

The Fannin County Rebel wrestling team recently competed in the 515 Classic Wednesday, December 18, and the “Fight Before Christmas” at Denmark High School Saturday, December 21. In the 515 Classic, the Rebels were able to top the Pickens County Dragons with an electric 66-12 win.

The Fannin County Middle School seventh grade Lady Rebels basketball team traveled to White County Monday, December 9, to take on the Lady Warriors. The Lady Rebels fell behind early and was not able to recover as White County walked away with a 38-23 conference win.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted the Border War Thursday, December 19, at Fannin County High School’s Rebel Stadium. Team Tennessee consisted of seniors from Bradley County, Cleveland High, Polk County, Walker Valley, Meigs, McMinn, McMinn Central and Copper Basin.

The Fannin County High School Rebels football team recently had eight players to make the Region 7-AAA First Team All Region. Offensive linemen Mason Bunday and Miles Johnson made the first team, as well as Luke Holloway for his punting skills.

The Copper Basin Cougars basketball team hosted the Chattanooga Patriots Thursday, December 12. Copper Basin got off to a slow start, but came back in the second half to win the game 50-42. Senior Jacob Spurling led the Cougars in the first quarter, scoring a three point bomb from deep.
