Lady Rebels win ETC Tournament, remain undefeated

The Lady Rebels hosted the Gilmer County Lady Cats Tuesday, November 26, for the ETC Classic championship. Both teams fought hard, but it was the Lady Rebels who rallied in the second half to win the game 40-39 and championship for the first time since 2011.

Rebels wrestling has great start to season

The Fannin County wrestling team is off to a great season. The Rebels defeated 7A Cherokee County 51-26 Tuesday, November 19. The Rebels have also topped Chestatee 44-21 and region rival Dawson County 48-36.

Rebels pull out close win

The Fannin County Rebels basketball team started the 2019-2020 basketball season at home Tuesday, November 19, as they took on the Southeast Whitfield County Raiders. The game was close the whole way through, but the Rebels made a push late to beat the Raiders 40-35.

The Fannin County Lady Rebel junior varsity and varsity softball teams held their end of season banquet Monday, November 18, at the Blue Ridge First Baptist Church’s youth building. Head coach Alan Collis started with the junior varsity team.

Lady Cougars top Lady Hawks to start season 1-0

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars kicked off the 2019-2020 basketball season with a trip to Nantahala Tuesday, November 19, to take on the Lady Hawks. Copper Basin shined on offense and defense to start the season with 82-18 victory. Hailey Brackett led all scores with 21 points.

Lady Rebels basketball starts season 1-0

The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team tipped off their 2019-2020 season Tuesday, November 19, against Southeast Whitfield High School. The Lady Rebels found a rhythm on both sides of the ball as they won the game 72-24.

WRD makes changes to waterfowl hunting

With waterfowl hunting season opening Saturday, November 23, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) are urging duck hunters to make note of some changes in this year’s hunting regulations. The waterfowl season now has a fixed ending date of January 31.

Lady Rebels lose close battle with Murphy

The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team hosted the Murphy Lady Bulldogs for a preseason scrimmage game Thursday, November 14. The Lady Rebels flashed on both sides of the ball, but it was Murphy who came away with a 54-48 win.

Rebels top Murphy in preseason matchup

The Fannin County Rebels basketball team hosted the Murphy Bulldogs for a preseason matchup Thursday, November 14. The Rebels had a slow start, but exploded in the third and fourth quarters to take a 50-49 win over the Bulldogs. Landon Norton led all scores with 16 points.
