Rebel wrestling goes 3-1 at Area 5AAA Duals

The Fannin County Rebels wrestling team competed in the Area 5AAA Duals Saturday, January 11, in Dawson County. The Rebels had a strong showing, finishing 3-1. The Rebels faced off against Pace Academy first and was able to top the Knights 76-6.

Fannin Middle School Rebels top Pickens Dragons

The Fannin County Middle School Rebels faced off against Pickens County in a conference game Thursday, January 9. For the Rebels, defense was key as Fannin’s seventh grade boys took down Pickens County 57-38. THe Dragons started the game with full control of both the offensive and defensive ends.

Basin tops Tellico, remains first in district

The Copper Basin Cougars hosted the Tellico Plains Bears Tuesday, January 7. For the Cougars, a win would give them a 10-4 record on the year and would put them in the driver’s seat in their district with a 3-0 record.
Golden Club Bowling League completed their Fall League, Wednesday, December 18, and at the banquet the following winners were declared: Handicap series, Bob Rodde with a 768 and Linda McKee with a 762; Handicap game, Larry Dumas with a 723 and Claudia Parks with a 300; Most improved bowler, Buddy Collins and Linda Beldowski; High Average, Chris McKee with a 202 and Bonna Graham with a 147. Cougars offense not enough in loss

The Copper Basin Cougar basketball team faced off against Friendship Christian, Sunday, December 29, in the King of the Smokies Christmas Tournament in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The Cougars came out strong, but fell to the Commanders 51-48.

Lady Rebels top Hiwassee Dam

The Fannin County Lady Rebels traveled to Hiwassee Dam, North Carolina Friday, January 3, to take on the Lady Eagles. Fannin started strong and never looked back as they topped the Lady Eagles 58-44.

Fannin tops Eagles

The Fannin County Rebels traveled to Hiwassee Dam Friday, January 3, to take on the Eagles. The Rebels played well on both sides of the ball and were able to come away with a 62-31 win over the Eagles. Fannin came out of the gate hot, scoring 19 points.

Fannin County Rebels win Amicalola Classic

The Fannin County Rebel wrestling team competed in the Amicalola Classic Friday, December 27. The Rebels competed well and were able to bring home a first place finish.  Fannin County faced Chestatee first and the Rebels were able to top the War Eagles 69-9.

Lady Rebels top Ooltewah, finish tournament 2-1

The Fannin County Lady Rebels traveled to North Murray High School to compete in the North Murray Christmas Tournament December 19-21. After splitting the first two games, the Lady Rebels faced Ooltewah Saturday, December 21, for the final matchup of the tournament.
