Copper Basin holds off Lady Patriots

The Copper Basin Lady Cougar basketball team hosted the Chattanooga Patriots Thursday, December 12. The Lady Cougars played well to start the game, but a 15-point fourth quarter led Copper Basin to a 41-35 win.

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars basketall team traveled to Chattanooga Tuesday, December 10, to take on the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences Lady Patriots. The Lady Cougars started out strong and never let up in the district game, topping the Lady Patriots 51-43.

Rebels finish in top eight at McCallie Invitational

The Fannin County Rebels wrestling team traveled to Robbinsville, North Carolina Monday, December 9, to take on the Black Knights. For the Rebels, a win would put their record at 19-4 on the year and give Fannin momentum heading into the McCallie Invitational.

Lady Rebels top Lumpkin County for region win

The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team hosted the Lumpkin County Lady Indians Tuesday, December 10, for a region matchup. The Lady Rebels came out strong on both sides of the ball, winning the game 51-38.

Five Rebel baseball players further education

Five Fannin County Rebel baseball players signed scholarships to further their education and play baseball at the collegiate level Friday, December 13. Hunter Gray, Gabe Buchanan, Blake Rogers, Carson Beavers and Matthew Shirah signed scholarships with four different schools.

The Copper Basin Cougars traveled to Sale Creek Friday, December 6, to take on the Panthers in a district battle. The Cougars started slow, but caught fire in the second and third quarters for a 72-36 win.

Sale Creek defeats Lady Cougars

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars traveled to Sale Creek Friday, December 6, to take on the Lady Panthers in a district matchup. The Lady Cougars started out strong, but slowed down in the second half of the game as the Lady Panthers came away with a 51-35 win.

The Fannin County Rebels basketball team hosted the Union County Panthers Saturday, December 7. The Rebels fell behind early, but an explosive 19-point fourth quarter, gave the Rebels a 53-51 victory over the Panthers.

Explosive scoring leads Lady Rebels to Union win

The Fannin County Lady Rebels hosted the Union County Lady Panthers Saturday, December 7. The Lady Rebels were able to gain the momentum early and hold on as they topped Union 52-47.

The Fannin County Rebels wrestling team continued their hot streak this week as the Rebels faced off against Swain County and Franklin High School in North Carolina Tuesday, December 3, then went up against Smoky Mountain and Rabun Gap Thursday, December 5.
