Fannin County voters made a clear choice in only one of three local races Tuesday on the Republican General Primary ballot.

A total of 29 Copper Basin High School seniors shared in $63,300 in scholarships awarded Thursday, May 10, during ceremonies at the school.

Local businessman and ministry organizer, Bill Iverson began donating SpringPure water filtration systems and ministering to countries hit by catastrophic disasters over a decade ago.

The Fannin County Rebels held their annual Blue and White game Friday, May 18, with the White team coming away with a 28-14 victory. 

Three Fannin County Rebels were honored Thursday, May 17, when they singed scholarships to further their education and play golf at Truett McConnell College (TMC). 

The Copper Basin Youth Football League will begin holding registration for the upcoming season this Friday, May 25, and Saturday, May 26, at the Copper Basin High School football field.


Christine Alma Dickey, age 77, of Morganton, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, in Morganton, Georgia. 

Phillip Allan Watts, age 60, of Copperhill, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018. 

On May 1, 2018, Zack Austin Campbell of Morganton, Georgia, passed away from an extended illness.
