Fannin County 8U football claims Super Bowl title

The Fannin County 8U Rebels football claimed the 2019 Mountain Football League Super Bowl 3 Title in White County Saturday, November 9.  The Rebels faced Pickens County in the Super Bowl. For the Rebels, it would be a redemption match after Fannin fell to Pickens County 7-0 in the regular season.

Cougars end season with Gordonsville loss

On a chilly night in Copperhill, the Copper Basin Cougars hosted the Gordonsville Tigers in the first round of the TSSAA Class A State Playoffs Friday, November 8. It was the Cougars’ first playoff appearance since 2017, and the first home playoff game since 2014.

Fannin Rebels fall to Greater Atlanta Christian

Rebels basketball sweeps White County

The Fannin County Middle School seventh grade basketball team took the court Thursday, November 7, against White County.  A slow start plagued the Rebels, but great defensive pressure and explosive offense turned the tide in Fannin’s favor and gave the seventh grade team a 45-35 win.

Seniors recognized at Copper Basin

A total of 18 members of the senior class were honored at Copper Basin High School last Friday night prior to the Division 1A Region 3 championship game between the Cougars and South Pittsburg Pirates. The seniors represented the Cougar football team, cheerleading squad, band and golf team.

Cougars second in region after loss to Pirates

Two early miscues by the Copper Basin offense gave the visiting South Pittsburg Pirates the momentum they needed to score 43 unanswered points and win the Divsion 1A Region 3 championship Friday night. But the Cougars wrapped up a stellar, season long comeback, finishing 3-1 in region competition.

Rebels punch playoff ticket with 35-14 win

The Fannin County Football team hosted Lumpkin County Friday, November 1, for a region battle.

FCHS band earns Grand Champion

The Fannin County High School Band earned Grand Champion at the Lake Lanier Tournament of Bands at Chestatee High School Saturday, October 5.  “The Fannin County Band has had an outstanding competitive season,” Band Director Scott Barnstead said.
