Mr. Thornton Warren Burk (Bunt) (TW), age 78, of Lickskillet Road, Blue Ridge, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, March 27, 2022, following an extended illness.

Mr. Burk was born July 12, 1943, in Copperhill,  the son of the late Doyle Burk and the late Reba Joyce Burk. Thornton loved camping, fishing, riding horses and wagons. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. His favorite thing was spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alinda Burnett Burk; daughter, Scarlett Barnette; sister, Katherine Anderson; and three brothers, Glenn, Amos and Tommy Burk. Mr. Burk was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Burk are six children, Thornta and Theresa Burk, of Blue Ridge, Donna and Greg McClure, of Douglasville, Georgia, Jim and Michelle Loftis, of Blue Ridge, Norma and Zendle Beaver, of Morganton, Joe and Sharon Burk of Morganton and Christopher Burk of Blue Ridge; his brothers and sisters, Eunice Ensley, of Dalton, Georgia, Johnny Burk, of Blue Ridge, Joe Burk of Dallas, Georgia, Ann and Ralph Hamtree, of Dalton, Lucas and Darlene Burk, of Blue Ridge, Alice Seabolt, of Epworth, Willie and Wanda Burk, of Epworth and Frank Burk, of Ducktown; 20 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 10 a.m. from the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dickey and Rev. Jerry McClure officiating. The following gentleman served as pallbearers: Zendle, Wendall and Frank Beaver, Darren Patterson, Scotty Taylor and Chris Rollins. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Greg McClure and Greg Pruitt.

Interment followed in the Mobile Baptist Church cemetery. The family met with friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Mountain View Funeral Home, of Blairsville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
