Walk for life raises $60,000 for Her Hope

A $60,000 goal for the sixth annual Walk for Life benefitting Her Hope Pregnancy Center was met during the fundraising event June 6.The humidity didn't stop the numerous participants from getting their steps in at the Fannin County Recreation Complex on Tom Boyd Road.

McCaysville's revised alcohol ordinance delayed

The City of McCaysville will vote in August to adopt the revised alcohol ordinance due to a technicality.City Attorney Cortney Stuart told the council during their June 9 meeting, "The newspaper admitted that they made an error.

Runoff advance voting begins Monday

Advance voting for the Georgia General Primary Election Runoff begins Monday, June 8 and continues through Friday, June 12.It will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the courthouse, 400 West Main St. in Blue Ridge.

McCaysville staying dry after vote

McCaysville voters have said “no” to liquor by the drink and will remain a dry city.After residents and business owners fought to have the opportunity to vote on the matter, 146 citizens showed up to cast ballots out of 848 registered voters.
