Rebels finish in top eight at McCallie Invitational

The Fannin County Rebels wrestling team traveled to Robbinsville, North Carolina Monday, December 9, to take on the Black Knights.

For the Rebels, a win would put their record at 19-4 on the year and give Fannin momentum heading into the McCallie Invitational.

Fannin started strong and never took their foot off the gas as they topped the Black Knights 60-15 to advance to 19-4 on the season.

The Rebels traveled to McCallie High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to compete in the McCallie Invitational Friday and Saturday, December 13-14. 

Fannin had a solid showing the first day of the competition, placing them in sixth overall out of 20 teams.

The Rebels continued to fight Saturday and was able to finish in eighth place out of 20 teams. 

Individuals Rebels who placed include: Grayson Patterson, third place; Landon Galloway, third place; McCay Turner, fourth place and Malachy Johnston, sixth place.

The Rebels will travel to Gilmer County Wednesday, December 18, to continue their hot streak at the 515 Classic against the Gilmer County Bobcats and Pickens County Dragons.
