Cross country runners finish first

The Fannin County Mddle School boys Cross Country team came away with first place and the Champions plaque from the Carney Classic Invitational. The meet was held in Hayesville, North Carolina, September 26. There were 100 runners in the event representing 11 teams.

Copper Basin dominates Lookout Valley

Copper Basin’s big play offense loaded the scoreboard with 52 points Friday night to defeat the Lookout Valley Yellowjackets and earn the top spot in 1A, Region 3 football standings. Meanwhile, the Cougar defense continued to swarm the ball, holding  the visitors to 3 points.
The Fannin defense had a great outing against the Bears Friday, October 4. The Rebels gave up only seven points through four quarters. Rebels start region play with win over Bears

The Fannin County Rebels football team started their region play off with a bang as they traveled to Cherokee Bluff to take on the Bears. The Rebels defense gave the Bears fits all night as Fannin traveled back to home with a 21-7 victory and are now 1-0 in region play.

Lady Rebels split games

The Fannin County Lady Rebels volleyball team traveled to Cherokee Bluff, Tuesday, September 24, for a tri-match against the Lady Bears and Madison County Red Raiders. The Lady Rebels did well on the evening, splitting games. Fannin topped Cherokee Bluff 2-1 and fell to the Red Raiders 2-1.

Copper Basin scores 16-0 win in shortest game

Just two minutes and 33 seconds had ticked off the game clock at Copper Basin Friday when lightning flashing across the evening sky forced game officials to halt the game between the Cougars and North Georgia Falcons. That delay came at 7:45.
