Fannin Rebels wrestling 18-4 on the year

The Fannin County Rebels wrestling team continued their hot streak this week as the Rebels faced off against Swain County and Franklin High School in North Carolina Tuesday, December 3, then went up against Smoky Mountain and Rabun Gap Thursday, December 5.

The Rebels started out strong Tuesday, and were able to top Swain County 57-11. The Rebels then played Franklin High School and dominated, winning 71-11, to finish the night 2-0.

After a one-day break the Rebels faced Smoky Mountain and Rabun Gap. The Rebels were dominant in both games topping Smoky Mountain 60-26 and Rabun Gap 57-21.

Fannin wrestling is now 18-4 on the year. Head wrestling coach Chuck Patterson said, “The kids are working hard and competing against tough competition. Their work ethic and response to being pushed on a daily basis is why we are successful right now.”

The Rebels will play in the McCallie Invitational Friday and Saturday, December 13-14 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
