Rebels named to All Region squads

Region 7AA has announced their selections for All Region. The 2022 7AA Athlete of the Year is Fannin County senior Corbin Davenport. Davenport earned 2,347 total All Purpose yards with an average of 164.8 per game.

Seniors claim 100th dual team victory

The Fannin County High School wrestling team finished second in the Clash at the Creek Tournament this past weekend. During Friday night’s matches, Fannin beat Calhoun 69 to 4, Ringgold 54 to 19 and North Hall 61 to 15. Saturday morning’s matches saw the Fannin team tie for second of out 21 teams.

Lady Rebels claim victory

The Fannin County Lady Rebels earned their second region win on a road trip to North Murray High School by beating the Mountaineers 64-36. During the first quarter, Courtney Davis led the Lady Rebels with ten points made up of two twos and two threes.

Basin beats South Pitt

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars took on South Pittsburg for the second time in a week, and although the rematch was a tough one for a while, Copper Basin used a huge fourth quarter to turn a close game into a blowout Friday, December 16, at Copper Basin High School.

Fannin wrestlers claim 515 championship

The Fannin County High School wrestling team earned the title of 515 Classic Champions Friday, December 2. The team combined two post wins over rivals UnionCounty, 57 to 21, and Gilmer County, 41 to 33. This win marked the first victory over Gilmer since 2003.

Lady Rebels beat Model

The Fannin County Lady Rebels earned their first region win with a 55 to 35 victory over the Model Blue Devils Tuesday, December 6. During the first quarter, Courtney Davis led the Lady Rebels with six points.

Copper Basin’s Lady Cougars down CGLA

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars hosted Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy Thursday, December 1, to start district play. Copper Basin got off to a crazy 37-0 lead in the opening quarter and never looked back, coasting to a 76-18 win.

The Fannin County High School wrestling team won their first home match Friday, December 2 against Swain County, North Carolina. Blake Summers, Cooper Moreland, Carson Collis, Tristan Siler, Drake Cantrell, Corbin Davenport, Christen Newberry and Logan Long all won their matches by pin.

Fannin County High School senior basketball player Ava Queen signed her letter of intent to further her athletic and academic career at Truett McConnell University (TMU) in Cleveland, Georgia, Thursday, December 1. Queen plans to pursue a degree in Business.
