The newest inductees into the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame were announced last Friday night at the high school gym.
Doug Davenport, Jack Myers, Avram Allen, Bryant Meeks, Logan Daves, Jordan Farmer, the 2003-2004 Lady Rebels basketball team and Mike Harper all joined the honorees of years past.
Davenport played football at West Fannin High School from 1996 to 1970. Among his honors were All-State Most Valuable mention and first team All North Georgia.
Myers was head coach of the 1965-1966 East Fannin County boys basketball team, the only boys team in Fannin County to advance to the state tournament. He coached for 23 years in Fannin County.
Allen played soccer, basketball and football at Fannin County High School from 2001 to 2005. He holds high school soccer records for most goals scored in a season and most career goals scored.
Meeks played both offensive and defensive lineman from 2004 to 2008 at Fannin County High School. Among his honors were two all-state selections.
Daves was a starting offensive and defensive lineman at Fannin High from 2006 to 2009. He was selected as all region first team as a senior and went on to start on the offensive line at Georgia Southern University.
Jordan Farmer excelled in basketball and baseball from 2007 to 2011. He score 1,069 points in basketball and caught every baseball game for the Rebels in four seasons.
The 2003-2004 Lady Rebels basketball team posted a record of 25-8 and finished as runner-up in the state tournament.
Harper was selected for his contributions to athletics through his work with the sports Hall of Fame.
