The Fannin County High School wrestling team traveled to Jeff Davis High School and made their mark as the 2023 AA State Dual Runner-Ups, Saturday January 21. During the Elite Eight match, Fannin outscored Murray County 68 to nine to put the team into the Final Four.

The Fannin County High School Football team held their banquet Wednesday, January 11 at the Fannin County Recreation Department. Many of the student athletes and student trainers received the academic award which was awarded to students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels fell short in a region battle against the Murray County Lady Indians 41 to 46 in a road game Tuesday, January 10. During the first quarter, Reigan O’Neal put in a three and a two for five.

The Fannin County Wrestling team punched their ticket to the AA Elite Eight by defeating Washington County and Vidalia Saturday, January 14. The Rebels swept Washington County 84 to 0.

With an 84-23 victory over Rockmart and a career high 31 points for Courtney Davis, the Fannin County Lady Rebels posted their fourth region win to move up to #1 in Region 7AA. During the first quarter of the game, Davis led the Lady Rebels with 10 points.

The Rebels’ basketball team posted a 69-51 win over the Elbert County Blue Devils Saturday, January 7. During the first quarter, senior JoJo Annis led the Rebels with six points. Ben Bloch, Jordan Richerson and Gavin Mowery had a basket for two point each for a Rebels’ 12 point first quarter.

Fannin County High School hosted the FCA Border War football game between Team Georgia and Team Tennessee. The Region 3A coaches have announced their All Region football team selections. The team includes 11 members of the 2022 Copper Basin Cougars including the region’s  Lineman of the Year, Addison Hook. Named to the first team squad were Isaac Deal, Krus Soto and A.J. Fitchett.
