Copper Basin downs Gilmer in ETC tourney

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars had a rematch on the first day of the annual ETC Tournament, as they took on the host Lady Bobcats of Gilmer County, Saturday, November 19, in Ellijay.

Lady Rebels win scrimmage

The Lady Rebels posted a big 63-22 preseason win in a scrimmage against Hiwassee Dam Thursday, November 17. Fannin County started off hot as the team earned 19 points in the first eight minutes. Courtney Davis found the back of the net with two three pointers and a quick two in the paint.

Lady Rebels honored at volleyball banquet

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels volleyball team held their banquet Thursday, November 10. The Lady Rebels ended their 2022 season with a record of 27-14, the region championship and a Sweet Sixteen playoff run.

Rebels earn spot in Sweet 16

The Fannin Rebels football team punched their ticket to the Sweet Sixteen playoffs with their Friday night 28-13  victory over Athens Academy. The game began with Fannin’s Bryson Holloway returning the Spartan kickoff ten yards to the 23 yard line.

Fannin Lady Rebels honored at softball banquet

The Lady Rebels softball team held their banquet Tuesday, November 1. Many members earned awards. Sydney German was awarded as “most improved” for the Lady Rebels. The “spirit” award was given to Kelsey Russel.

Rebels claim fourth place at state meet

The Fannin County High School cross country teams traveled Saturday, November 5 to Carrollton, Georgia, to compete in the state cross country meet. What started off as a cloudy overcast day turned out to be bright for the Rebels as they took fourth place in the competition.

Fannin Rebels earn playoff spot

The Fannin Rebels secured a playoff spot with a 49-28 win over Haralson County Thursday, November 3, at Fannin County Stadium. Jack Kantner drove the opening kickoff to the five yard line, and Andrew Waldrep stopped the ball carrier at the 10.

South Pittsburg puts end to Copper Basin season

The Copper Basin ended the 2022 season on the road, as they traveled to South Pittsburg to take on the defending Class A Champion Pirates Friday, October 28.

Lady Rebels win, Rebels second in region

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) cross country teams traveled to Rome, Georgia to competed in the  Region 7AA Championship meet Tuesday, October 25. Both teams competed in the warm windy conditions, but Lady Rebels brought home the trophy for the third consecutive year in a row.
