Region 7AA has announced their selections for All Region.
The 2022 7AA Athlete of the Year is Fannin County senior Corbin Davenport. Davenport earned 2,347 total All Purpose yards with an average of 164.8 per game. He threw for 137 yards and one touchdown, rushed for 1,174 yards with 666 reception yards. He had five kickoff returns for 200 yards with a 40 yard average and ten punt returners for 170 with a 17 yard average. Davenport scored a total of 174 points. Defensively, he earned 48 tackles, nine of those for loss.
First Team All Region 7AA for offense included Jack Kantner, Bryson Holloway and Jeremy Tammen.
Kantner was the Rebels kicker and punter. He had 669 yard with an average of 35 yards per punt, long of 65 yards with five inside the 20 yard line. He totaled for 1,626 kickoff yards, 26 touchbacks, scored 45 points, 36 of 37 points after a touchdown and three of four on field goals.
Holloway had 981 all purpose yards, 22 yards in returns, 17 receptions for 164 yards along with one touchdown. He had 97 carries for 595 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 37 tackles, three for loss, as well as three interceptions, three pass deflections and one fumble recovery.
Tammen was a right guard for the Rebels. He earned 44 total tackles, three tackles for loss, six pancake blocks, six pressures and three sacks. He also averaged a right guard grade of a 91 percent.
First Team All Region 7AA for defense included seniors Andrew Waldrep and Logan Long.
Waldrep was a linebacker for the Rebels who played in six game this season due to an injury. This season, he posted 47 total tackles with 34 solo and 13 assists. He had eight tackles for loss and a pass deflection. For his total career, Waldrep had 252 total tackles, 41 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions and four forced fumbles.
Long played nose guard for the Rebels having 55 total tackles, 36 solo and 19 assist, with six for loss along with 21 pancakes and two sacks. He averaged the right tackle score of a 92 percent. Long started 40 regular season games and eight playoff games, never missing a game in his entire career.
Second Team All Region 7AA for offense chose Taylor Collis. Collis played center for the Rebels. He averaged a grade of 94 percent with nine pancakes at 5’10 and 160 pounds.
Second Team All Region 7AA for defense included Cade Sands, Clay Heaton and Nate Maloof.
Sands suffered an season ended injury after playing five game. During those games, he earned 42 tackles, ten for loss, along with a QB pressure and a caused fumble. For his career, he had 169 total tackles, 21 tackles for loss, a sack, four hurries, two fumble recoveries, two caused fumbles, two pass deflections and an interception along with scoring two receiving touchdowns on offense.
Heaton played cornerback for the Rebels. He had 45 tackles and two interceptions for the season.
Maloof was a defensive end for the Rebels. He posted 37 total tackles, one for loss, two sacks and four hurries.
Region 7AA honorable mentions included Carson Collis, Cooper Born, Braden Taylor, Carson Callihan, Elijah Weaver, JoJo Annis, Jacob Dye, Case Holloway and Lawson Sullivan.
