The Fannin County Lady Rebels junior varsity volleyball squad hosted the Copper Basin Cougars Thursday, September 10, for a best of three match. Both teams played well, taking the game to three sets, but the Lady Cougars were able to battle back after losing the first set to win the game 2-1.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels varsity volleyball team hosted the Copper Basin Lady Cougars Thursday, September 10. Fannin County celebrated senior night for the five seniors on the team as well. Both teams battled, but it was the Lady Rebels that came out on top, winning the game 3-0.

Lady Rebels lose hard fought battle to Chestatee War Eagles

The Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team traveled to Chestatee Monday, August 31, to take on the War Eagles. The Lady Rebels jumped out to lead the game in the early innings, but a late inning comeback from Chestatee hindered Fannin as they fell to the War Eagles 10-9.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels hosted the Pickens County Dragonettes Thursday, September 3. The Lady Rebels found a rhythm early on in the match and was able to top Pickens County 3-0.

Lady Cougars sweep Polk County

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars volleyball team hosted the Polk County Lady Cats Monday, August 31, for a region matchup. For the Lady Cougars, a win against the Lady Cats would mean a season sweep. The Lady Cougars never laid down, and was able to sweep Polk County for a 3-0 win.

The Fannin County Rebels football team traveled to Blairsville Friday, September 4, to kick off the 2020 football season against the Union County Panthers.  Fannin went into the game as a 12-point underdog, and a win for the Rebels would mean the first victory against Union County since 2013.

Lady Cougars fall to Tellico Bears

The Copper Basin Lady Cougar volleyball team opened up the 2020 season with a region home game against the Tellico Bears. Both teams battled hard, taking the match all the way to the fifth set, but it was Tellico who came back from behind to take a (3-2) victory over Copper Basin.

The Lady Cougars hosted the Tyner Lady Rams Tuesday, August 25, for a two-match region battle. Both teams played well, but the Lady Cougars were able to take control out of the gate and win both matches 3-0.

The Copper Basin Cougars hosted the Georgia Force Friday, August 28. Both team’s defenses played well, but the Cougars were able to come away with the win in the second half after Bryson Grabowski intercepted a Georgia Force pass.  Copper Basin won the toss and elected to kickoff.

Lady Rebels team loses battle with Towns County

The Fannin County Lady Rebel softball team started the 2020 season Monday, August 17, by traveling to Towns County to take on the Lady Indians. The Lady Rebels fell behind in the first inning, but were able to battle back in the top of the third to take a 3-2 lead.
