The Fannin County Lady Rebels varsity volleyball team hosted the Copper Basin Lady Cougars Thursday, September 10.
Fannin County celebrated senior night for the five seniors on the team as well. Both teams battled, but it was the Lady Rebels that came out on top, winning the game 3-0.
Rachel Bruce, Becca Ledford, Alyssa Anderson and Abby Ledford played well in the first set, but were met with stellar play from Lady Cougars: Sapporiah Ross, Raegan Higdon, Alley Foster and Allie Ballew.
Fannin jumped out to an 11-4 lead over Copper Basin, but the Lady Cougars battled back to tie the game 20-20. The Lady Rebels rallied, however, and won the set (25-22) to take a 1-0 lead.
Sydney Hickey, Makenna Miles, Albani Dotson and Channing Beach helped the Lady Cougars to a 2-1 lead in the second set, but Prisila Bautista, Paige Foresman, Reagan York and Rachel Prater helped the Lady Rebels battle back and take the second set (25-10) to lead 2-0.
The Lady Rebels were on fire to start the third set, jumping out to a 9-0 lead with solid play from Kaylie Kendall and Brooklyn Cole. Chelsea Stuart, Gracie Smith and Destiny Pittman had a strong set for Copper Basin to help keep them in the game, but Fannin had built up too big of a lead as they claimed the third set (25-15) and the game 3-0.
