Lady Rebels travel team wins World Series

The Lady Rebel travel softball team, made up of softball players from the Copper Basin, Murphy, Hiwassee Dam and Andrews area, competed in Cleveland, Tennessee, June 25 through 28, and were able to bring home the World Series.

Thompson named Golden Eagles head softball coach

Fannin County Class of 2012 Lady Rebel Karly Thompson has recently been named the Head Coach of the Washington County High School Golden Hawks softball team in Sandersville, Georgia.

Regan Holder, recent graduate of Copper Basin High School signed a scholarship to further her education and softball career at Tennessee Wesleyan University (TWU) Wednesday, June 18.

Morgan Holt signs to play with University of North Georgia

Fannin County Lady Rebel basketball player Morgan Holt recently chose to further her athletic and academic career by signing a scholarship with the University of North Georgia (UNG). Holt was a key part in the Lady Rebels’ offense for the past four seasons, proving to be a clutch scorer.

Fannin County Recreation Center officially open

The Fannin County Recreation Department re-opened its doors Monday, May 4, to a limited number of people from the Fannin and Polk County areas. Recreation Department Director Eddie O’Neal said, “Phase one of the re-open is going great, we are very pleased.

Brook Patton signs with Piedmont College

Fannin County senior Lady Rebel Brook Patton recently chose to further her academic and athletic career by signing a scholarship to play tennis at Piedmont College. She will be pursuing a  major in biology in order to achieve a lifelong dream of going into the dental field.
