GHSA announces start of season September

The starting date of Georgia high school football was announced Monday, July 20, at the Georgia High School Association meeting. The board members stated that football conditioning would remain on schedule to start Monday, July 27.

Copper Basin Youth Sports joins Mountain Athletic Conference

The Copper Basin Youth Sports League has recently joined the Mountain Athletic Conference.  Copper Basin will join Chestatee, Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Pickens, Union and White Counties as their 6U through 11U football teams will compete for a chance to win the Super Bowl.

TSSAA to make decision on high school sports

The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) has laid out four contingency plans to ensure high school sports are played in the fall of this year. The TSSAA board voted unanimously that member schools follow the governor’s executive order for sports activities.

Lady Rebels travel team wins World Series

The Lady Rebel travel softball team, made up of softball players from the Copper Basin, Murphy, Hiwassee Dam and Andrews area, competed in Cleveland, Tennessee, June 25 through 28, and were able to bring home the World Series.

Thompson named Golden Eagles head softball coach

Fannin County Class of 2012 Lady Rebel Karly Thompson has recently been named the Head Coach of the Washington County High School Golden Hawks softball team in Sandersville, Georgia.

Regan Holder, recent graduate of Copper Basin High School signed a scholarship to further her education and softball career at Tennessee Wesleyan University (TWU) Wednesday, June 18.
