All region honors pour in for Fannin Rebels

The Fannin County Rebels stellar 2024 football season has resulted in a host of individual honors. These include Coach of the Year, Co-Offensive Player of the Year, Athlete of the Year and 21 other all region honors for Region 7A, Division 2 Head Coach Chad Cheatham was named Coach of the Year.

Lewis gets double double as Lady Rebels pick up first season victory

The Fannin Lady Rebels basketball team pocketed their first win of the year with a 67-62 victory over the Lumpkin County Lady Indians Saturday, November 30, on the Lady Indians home court. The game was tied at 10 when Lumpkin County went on a 13-1 run to take the lead.

Fannin’s season ends in Elite Eight

The Fannin County High School Rebels football team wrapped up their 2024 season with a 39-48 playoff loss against the Northeast High School Raiders out of Macon, Georgia, in the Elite Eight match up between the two Class A powerhouses, Friday, November 29.

Lady Cougars post win over Hiwassee Dam

A trio of Copper Basin Lady Cougars posted double figure performances in the team’s 56-50 come from behind win over arch rival Hiwassee Dam. The decision came Friday, November 22, on the Lady Eagles home court.

Rebels earn spot in Elite 8

The Rebels punched their ticket to the Elite Eight with a comeback 28-21 victory over Jeff Davis Friday, November 22, in the Sweet 16 state playoff match up. The game started with a fumbled Fannin County kickoff return that was scooped up by a Yellow Jacket.

Flag Rebels enter playoffs

The Fannin County flag football team has wrapped up an extraordinary 14-1 regular season and entered playoff competition. This year’s success has been driven by a talented trio of quarterbacks, an unstoppable ground game, and a defense that consistently shuts down opponents.

Fannin posts 41-7 win in first playoff round

The Fannin County High School Rebels clinched their spot in the Sweet Sixteen round of the Georgia High School Association state football playoffs with a 41-7 win over Vidalia High School Indians last Friday night.
