The Fannin Lady Rebels basketball team pocketed their first win of the year with a 67-62 victory over the Lumpkin County Lady Indians Saturday, November 30, on the Lady Indians home court.
The game was tied at 10 when Lumpkin County went on a 13-1 run to take the lead. Trailing 29-15, Fannin went on an 11-point run to close the gap. The Lady Rebels captured the win despite trailing 32-26 at halftime.
Fannin County controlled the paint, grabbing 38 rebounds. Leading the effort was Reese Lewis who grabbed 16 rebounds and scored 15 points earning a double double.
Izzie Jabaley knocked down three shots from beyond the arc for the Lady Rebels.
As a team, Fannin passed the ball well with 10 assists on 23 made baskets.
Lady Rebel scorers include Lewis with 15 points, Jabaley close behind with 14 points, Maggie Ledford with 11 points, Emma Buchanan and Saidee Patton for seven points each, Avi Ethington who had six points, Emma Holloway with five points and Albany Cole who chipped in with two points.
