Rebels earn spot in Elite 8

The Rebels punched their ticket to the Elite Eight with a comeback 28-21 victory over Jeff Davis Friday, November 22, in the Sweet 16 state playoff match up. The game started with a fumbled Fannin County kickoff return that was scooped up by a Yellow Jacket.
Championship rings were presented to members of the Fannin County Lady Rebels 4x800 meter relay team Friday night for their 2024 state title victory. The Fannin County flag football team has wrapped up an extraordinary 14-1 regular season and entered playoff competition. This year’s success has been driven by a talented trio of quarterbacks, an unstoppable ground game, and a defense that consistently shuts down opponents.

Fannin posts 41-7 win in first playoff round

The Fannin County High School Rebels clinched their spot in the Sweet Sixteen round of the Georgia High School Association state football playoffs with a 41-7 win over Vidalia High School Indians last Friday night.

Cross Country teams shine at state

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) girls and boys cross country teams returned from state championship competition Friday, November 8, with top 10 finishes. The girls team was the Runner-up in the Georgia High School Association A-Division 1 meet.
The Riverwalk Run Series is a group of three, 5K races that covers two states and attracts a wide variety of runners. This group has just left the starting line at the November 2 Bigfoot Boogie.

Fannin County runners made their presence known in the Big Foot Boogie November 2 when they took victories in two of the age groups. Eric Woods, of Morganton, claimed the first place trophy in the Male 50-59 age group with a time of 23:17.

The Fannin County High School Rebels walked off their home turf in Blue Ridge Friday night with an undefeated 10-0 season, the Region Championship and Head Coach Chad Cheatham’s 52nd win at FCHS. The Rebels recorded these accomplishments after taking a 30-27 victory over the Gordon Lee Trojans.
