Sectionals next stop for XC teams

The next stop for the Fannin County High School (FCHS) boys and girls cross country teams is the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) 1A Division 1 sectional meet. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, when the FCHS teams will compete against others from regions 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Former Fannin County Rebel and current Cumberland Phoenix quarterback Luke Holloway was recently named NAIA Offensive Player of the Week, as well as the Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, after leading the Phoenix to a huge win over number four ranked Bethel October 12.

Rebels perfect record in tact at 9-0

Another Friday night and  another football game added up to another lopsided victory handed out by the Fannin County High School Rebels. The Rebels rolled up win number nine in a row as they posted a 48-21 decision over the  Christian Heritage High School Lions in Dalton.

56-6 win makes eight straight for Rebels

The Fannin County Rebels football team earned their eighth consecutive victory last Friday night, October 18, this one coming over the Armuchee Indians by a score of 56-6.
The Lady Rebels have advanced to the Elite Eight round of the Georgia High School Association state volleyball tournament with wins last week over Crawford County and Brantley County. Lady Rebels advance to Elite Eight

The Elite Eight of state tournament play is the next stop for the Fannin County High School (FCHS) Lady Rebels volleyball team after decisive wins in two playoff rounds last week.

Fannin cross country teams bring home first place finishes

Both the Fannin County boys and girls cross country teams brought home first place finishes from the Banks County High School Home Meet Wednesday, October 1 6. Besides Banks County High School, runners from Elbert County High School also competed.

Stats reveal range of Rebel strengths

The Fannin County Rebels enter week eight of the football season this Friday night riding atop a 7-0 overall record and 4-0 region worksheet. Region foe Armuchee will be visiting Rebel stadium to challenge those records. The Indians are coming off a tough 19-14 loss to Coosa last Friday night.

Lady Cougars end season, look to 2025

The volleyball season for the Copper Basin Lady Cougars came to an end last week when the team advanced to semi-final action in district play but couldn’t make their way into the region tournament. But it was not a gloom and doom ending for the young team.

Cross country teams continue climb

The girls cross country team from Fannin County High School (FCHS) continues to bring home honors while their male counterparts continue to improve by setting individual best times. Both came home from the Pickens’ and Grinnin’ Invitational Friday, October 11, keeping on this pace.

Copper Basin picks up 22-0 victory

The dry spell is over for the Copper Basin Cougars who picked up their first win of the season Friday night over the Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Eagles. The Marietta, Georgia, school brought its unbeaten season record to the Copper Basin field only to be sent home with their first loss.
