Lady Cougars improve record

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars volleyball team improved their overall record to 3-3 and their district worksheet to 3-2 with a varsity win over Lookout Valley last week. Copper Basin won the match 25-15, 25-13, and 25-12.

4-0: The winning streak continues

Fannin County’s Rebels started region play in blowout fashion Friday night, September 13, handing the Coosa Eagles a 42-0 defeat. The Rebels are now 1-0 in the region, and off to a perfect 4-0 mark for the season.

Holloway sets pace as Lady Rebels finish 16th out of 25

Lady Rebels 18-3

The Fannin County Lady Rebels volleyball team is riding atop a 18-3 record as it sets its sights on post season play. Among Fannin’s victims this year have been Gilmer County twice, Pickens County, and region foes Chestatee, Gordon Central, Dade County and Dalton Academy.

Lady Rebels score victory

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team earned a 4-2 win over Chattooga Thursday, September 5. The Lady Rebels got on the board in the top of the fifth inning after Presley Daves doubled, Aidyn Patterson singled, and Chattooga committed an error, each scoring one run.

Fannin County 42, Union County 7

Rebels strike early with TD on third play Fannin County scored on its third play from scrimmage Friday night on the way to a decisive 42-7 gridiron victory over the Union County Panthers in Blairsville. Fannin took the opening kickoff and started at its own 30 yard line.

Lady Rebels score win over Lady Lions

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team defeated the Christian Heritage Lady Lions 12-3 Tuesday, August 27. Callie Ensley collected three hits in four at bats to lead the Lady Rebel victory.
The Fannin County Lady Rebels volleyball team recently celebrated record setting performances by two of its own, Maddie Pelfrey and Maggie Ledford. Pelfrey, front at left, was honored for over 1,000 digs and Ledford, front at right, was recognized for over 1,000 assists.  Honoring their teammates are, back, from left, Bailee Stiles, Kaylie Davenport, Rylee King, Kendall Clore, Karis Hurd, Keslie Kea, Ashlyn Jones and Maya Butler.

Pelfrey, Ledford set school records

The Fannin County Lady Rebels volleyball team earned three wins at home Tuesday, August 27. The junior varsity squad beat North Murray 3-0, and the varsity beat Dalton and North Murray 2-0. During the matches, the team celebrated two school record breaking athletes.

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team won big over Coosa Lady Eagles 15-0, Tuesday, August 20, in just three innings.

Cougars see bright spots in second half

Copper Basin’s Cougars faced 58 players lined up on the opposite side of the field, the bright lights of a cross-county rivalry, and the normal first game jitters of making a mistake when they opened their 2024 season in Benton Friday night, August 23.
