Young Fannin wrestlers gain mat time against Lumpkin County

    Fannin County Rebel wrestling Coach David Henson felt good about the team’s performance following a match with Lumpkin County Tuesday, November 19.

    Henson said, “It was a great dual against a quality opponent, and the mat time is needed to help our young guys learn and grow. Logan won his match and looks to have a real shot at making the state tournament.

    “We did have a few injuries and will sideline a couple guys for a few weeks. The most notable is Landon Poole our senior captain and returning state qualifier who was hurt during warm ups.

    “I am proud of the effort and manner by which we competed and the work being put in to get better each day,” Henson added.
