Five overtime points from Kendra Deal helped Copper Basin’s Lady Cougars bring home the District Championship Saturday night with a 52-46 victory over Sale Creek’s Lady Panthers. Deal was the night’s scoring leader for Copper Basin with 14 points followed closely by Alexis Hyatt with 12.

Emma Buchanan and Avi Ethington each scored 12 points, as the Fannin County Lady Rebels defeated ACE Charter and move on to the Elite Eight, winning 64-35, Friday, February 21. Buchanan scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Fannin County Rebels couldn’t keep up with Christian Heritage in the Region Championship game and took a 58-33 loss Friday, February 14, earning the title of Region Runner-Up. Hudson Ethington had a strong outing with 17 points for the Rebels in the loss.

Kolton Kaylor exploded for 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to carry the Fannin County Rebels to a decisive basketball victory past Dade County, 65-49, Monday, February 3. The game was tied early at 20 points each when the Rebels went on a 14-point run to take the lead.
Copper Basin’s Alexis Hyatt scored her 1,000th point last week when the Lady Cougars hosted Robbinsville High School. Hyatt, who is only a junior, was presented a 1,000 point ceremonial basketball by Head Coach Jeff Grimes.
