The Fannin County Rebels couldn’t keep up with Christian Heritage in the Region Championship game and took a 58-33 loss Friday, February 14, earning the title of Region Runner-Up. Hudson Ethington had a strong outing with 17 points for the Rebels in the loss.

Lady Cougars down Whitwell Copper Basin’s Lady Cougars kicked off a winning night for the school’s basketball teams with a victory over the Whitwell Lady Tigers. Their counterparts on the Cougars would follow with a win of their own Monday, February 3, on the home floor.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team took a victory over Christian Heritage, 64-35, Friday, February 7, as they geared up for the Region Tournament this week.

Kaylor’s 24 points pace Fannin victory

Kolton Kaylor exploded for 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to carry the Fannin County Rebels to a decisive basketball victory past Dade County, 65-49, Monday, February 3. The game was tied early at 20 points each when the Rebels went on a 14-point run to take the lead.
Copper Basin’s Alexis Hyatt scored her 1,000th point last week when the Lady Cougars hosted Robbinsville High School. Hyatt, who is only a junior, was presented a 1,000 point ceremonial basketball by Head Coach Jeff Grimes.

Cole scores 14 in Lady Rebels’ 20th win

The Senior Night spotlight shined brightly on Lady Rebels Emma Buchanan, Callie Ensley and Emma Holloway, but it was  sophomore Albany Cole who stepped up to set the scoring pace with 14 points in the team’s 20th victory this season.

Hudson Ethington paces Fannin’s victory

Hudson Ethington made the most of what would be his final regular season game in front of hometown fans, scoring 21 points to lead Fannin County to a 70-34 win over the Gordon Lee Trojans. The Rebels celebrated Senior Night when they hosted Gordon Lee Friday, Janaury 31.

Copper Basin’s Cougars put a win under their belts Monday night, January 20, when they traveled to Whitwell and came home with a 57-34 victory. The Cougars came out strong to take a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter behind the shooting of Drew Crowder, Talon Smith and Carder Lance.

A strong performance from Maggie Ledford, helped the Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team defeat Christian Heritage, 68-53, Wednesday, January 22. Ledford scored 21 points to lead the way for the Lady Rebels. The Lady Rebels went on a 16-point run to start the game against the Lady Lions.
