Lady Rebels split games

The Fannin County Lady Rebels volleyball team traveled to Cherokee Bluff, Tuesday, September 24, for a tri-match against the Lady Bears and Madison County Red Raiders. The Lady Rebels did well on the evening, splitting games. Fannin topped Cherokee Bluff 2-1 and fell to the Red Raiders 2-1.

Copper Basin scores 16-0 win in shortest game

Just two minutes and 33 seconds had ticked off the game clock at Copper Basin Friday when lightning flashing across the evening sky forced game officials to halt the game between the Cougars and North Georgia Falcons. That delay came at 7:45.

The Copper Basin Cougars looked to continue their hot streak as they traveled to Whitwell for a huge District 3-A matchup with the Tigers Friday September 20.

Rebels win shootout against Chestatee

The Fannin county Rebels football team traveled to Chestatee High School Friday, September 20. The Rebels offense and defense showed up, as the Rebels won the game 34-30. The Rebels defense held a high powered War Eagle offense to just 288 total yards.

LADY REBELS FALL TO VIKINGS

The Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team traveled to East Hall Tuesday, September 10, for a region match up with the East Hall Lady Vikings. East Hall started strong and the Lady Rebels could not recover in the game, as they fell to the Lady Vikings 15-0.

FANNIN LOSES FIRST GAME OF THE YEAR TO UNION

Blue Ridge: The 2-0 Fannin County Rebels hosted the Union County Panthers on a muggy afternoon, Friday, September 13. The Rebels were looking for their third win of the season, but Union was able to pull out a win in the final quarter to beat the Rebels 33-14.

COUGARS ROLL OVER TELLICO FOR 3-1 SEASON START

Tellico Plains: The Tellico Plains Bears knocked on Copper Basin’s door several times only to have it slammed in their face Friday night by a never-give-up Cougar defense.

Cougars win catfight against Panthers

The Copper Basin Cougars hosted the Sale Creek Panthers Friday, September 6, for a district match up. Both teams played well, but Copper Basin’s defense showed up and their offense put the game away in the second half to win the game 40-7.

FCMS cross country teams shine

The Fannin County Middle School Rebels and Lady Rebels cross country teams traveled to Murphy, North Carolina on Saturday, September 7, to compete in the Bulldog Invitational. Fannin had a great day, sweeping the meet and taking home team first place awards for both boys and girls.
