Lady Cougars sweep CGLA

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars softball team started the 2021 softball season with two wins Monday, March 15, after an impressive double header sweep over the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy (CGLA). The Lady Cougars topped the Lady Mustangs 21-0 in the first game, and 24-2 in the second.

Student athletes from Fannin County High School traveled to Jefferson County in Louisville, Georgia, Saturday, March 13, to compete in the state weightlifting competition.

Rebels football team holds banquet

The Fannin County Rebels’ football team officially put a bow-tie on a historic 2020 football season as they held their end-of-season banquet Tuesday, March 16, at the Fannin County Recreation Department.

Rebels shut out 3-0 on road trip to face Model

Fannin County’s baseball team hit the road Monday, March 8, for a region 7AA matchup with Model.  It was a tough day for the Rebel offense as Model shut out Fannin 3-0.  The Blue Devils struck first, scoring a run in the bottom of the first inning on back-to-back doubles to take a 1-0 lead.

Rebels stay on top of region standings

The Fannin County Rebel tennis team took on Pepperell in Blue Ridge Monday, March 8, in a region 7AA matchup.  The boys were looking to stay undefeated in the region and got off to a great start as sophomore Sam Jabaley won his singles match by a score of 6-2 and 6-1.

Lady Rebels score five goals on North Murray

The Fannin County Lady Rebels’ and Rebels’ soccer teams split wins against the North Murray Indians, Tuesday, March 2.  The Lady Rebels were able to win their game 5-0 while the Rebels fell just short as the Indians scored a goal in the final minutes of the game to win 1-0.

Rebels thump Bobcats 13-3 for season sweep

The Fannin County Rebels baseball team put on a show Wednesday, March 3, topping the Gilmer County Bobcats 13-3 for the season sweep. Bradley Holloway was a key part in the Rebels’ victory, as he had four of the Rebels’ 12 hits in the game.
The Lady Rebels joined in celebration Saturday night following their 43-41 win over the Butler Lady Bulldogs. The victory advances Fannin County to the state championship game Thursday, March 11 in Macon.

Becca Ledford hit the biggest two-point basket in recent Fannin County basketball history when she rattled the rim for a two-pointer to give the Lady Rebels a 43-41 win over the Butler Lady Bulldogs.
