The Copper Basin Lady Cougar basketball team started the 2021 year off with a bang as they overpowered region rival, the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences Tuesday, January 12, for a 48-32 win.

Rebels finish Runner-Up in Area Duals

The Fannin County High School wrestling team hosted Banks County and Union County Friday, January 15, for Area 8AA Duals. The Rebels faced off against Union County in the first match and were able to easily handle the Panthers 59-15 to advance to the finals against Banks County.

Copper Basin Cougars named to All Region Team

The Copper Basin Cougars had an impressive season, and were primed to make a deep playoff run before injuries set in and prevented the Cougars from doing so. Recently, the 1A Region 3 All State and All Region players were announced, with multiple Cougars on the roster.

Fannin tops Lady Indians

The Lady Rebels found themselves in a battle late in the fourth quarter against region rival, the Chattooga Lady Indians Tuesday, January 5, but were able to come away with a 68-65 win. Fannin started out on fire offensively, scoring 16 points in the first quarter.

Rebels fall to Rabun County Wildcats

The Fannin County Rebels basketball team battled the Rabun County Wildcats Wednesday, December 30, in Rabun County, Georgia. The Rebels started slow, but rallied back in the later quarters, but it was the Wildcats taking a 55-43 win over the Rebels as time expired.

The Fannin County Rebels wrestling team traveled to Gainesville, Georgia, Wednesday, December 23, to compete in the Gainesville Big Red Duals. The Rebels had a good outing overall, going 3-2 on the day.
