On Tuesday, May 18, Habitat for Humanity of Fannin and Gilmer Counties, along with The Open Arms Home for Children held their first annual golf tournament at Old Toccoa Farm Golf Course in Mineral Bluff. The event helped raise more than $20,000 for both charities. The Habitat for Humanity of Fannin and Gilmer Counties, along with The Open Arms Home for Children, held their first annual golf tournament at the beautiful Old Toccoa Farm Golf Course in Mineral Bluff.
The Fannin 10U boys baseball team is headed to the state tournament, which will be held in Hazlehurst, Georgia, June 22 to 26, after they defeated Rome 11-1 to advance.

Three Fannin County Rec reation Department All Star teams recently had strong showings in district tournaments across North Georgia. The 8U Girls softball team won the District 5 championship, which was held in Trion, Georgia, June 7 and 8.

The nomination gives the athletes the exclusive invite to try out for academy-level soccer. The 10U Fannin All Stars are, from left, Rowen Allen, Knox Nelson, Jacob Curtis, Brody Ingle and Mason Hopple.
