Fundraiser golf tournament raises over $20,000

The Habitat for Humanity of Fannin and Gilmer Counties, along with The Open Arms Home for Children, held their first annual golf tournament at the beautiful Old Toccoa Farm Golf Course in Mineral Bluff.
The Fannin 10U boys baseball team is headed to the state tournament, which will be held in Hazlehurst, Georgia, June 22 to 26, after they defeated Rome 11-1 to advance.

Softball, baseball teams have strong seasons

Three Fannin County Rec reation Department All Star teams recently had strong showings in district tournaments across North Georgia. The 8U Girls softball team won the District 5 championship, which was held in Trion, Georgia, June 7 and 8.

The nomination gives the athletes the exclusive invite to try out for academy-level soccer. Rebels track and field team celebrates season

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) track and field team held their end-of-season banquet Tuesday, May 25, at Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville. The junior varsity team was recognized first for all their hard work this season, followed by varsity.

The Fannin County women’s golf team participated in the Georgia High School Association state golf tournament at Southern Hills Golf and Country Club May 17 and 18, and came home from Hawkinsville, Georgia, with a state championship!

Twiggs signs scholarship with Berea

Kaeden Twiggs chose to further his academic and athletic career Wednesday, May 12, as he signed a scholarship to play basketball for the Berea College Mountaineers. Everyone met at the Fannin County Recreation Center to celebrate.
