Copper Basin Cougar football players recognized

Several players from the Copper Basin High School Cougar football team were recently picked for the Region 3-1A Team. Joe Boggs received the highest honor for the Cougars, as he was named Defensive Lineman of the Year. Addison Hook was also named Lineman of the Year.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels improved their record to 6-1 Saturday, December 11, when they hosted the Union County Panthers. Fannin County jumped out to a comfortable lead and ended up winning the game 67-45.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels started region play with a win Tuesday, December 7, at home against the Model Blue Devils. The Lady Rebels jumped out early and never looked back as they won the game 64-32.

The Fannin County Rebel basketball team erupted for a 28-point fourth quarter Saturday, December 4, when they traveled to Murphy to take on the Bulldogs. The solid effort was not enough, however, as the Rebels fell to Murphy 69-52.

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars watched a lead slip away as they fell to the 2A Lady Cats of Sweetwater 45-33, Monday, November 29. The Lady Cougars strung together seven points in the first quarter, with Riley Hall leading the way with three points in a two-point basket and a free throw.
