Tennis teams post region win

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) Tennis teams earned a region win last Thursday, March 10 against Chattooga. The men’s team won five to zero. Hunter Satterfield eight to two. The other four matches were forfeited, earning the team four more points. The men’s team is now 2-0 in region play.

Track team setting records

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) track teams are off to a hot start as four school records have been broken within the first two meets. Head Coach Miranda Roof says she is “so proud of  the athletes and the coaches for how hard they are working this season!

Rebels strike early in win over Murray County

By John Spargo The Fannin County Rebels hosted the Murray County Indians Wednesday, February 23, for a non-region baseball tilt. The Rebel’s offense came out and scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back for a convincing 9-4 win.

Lady Rebels defeat Pepperell

Mazie Goble drove home the first goal for the Lady Rebels as Fannin County picked up a 4-0 region win over  the visiting Pepperell Lady Dragons in soccer action Thursday, February 24, on Fannin’s home field.

Becca Ledford owned the lane in the third quarter as the Fannin County Lady Rebels defeated the Washington County Lady Golden Hawks 52-36 to advance to the Elite Eight in the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) AA Girls State Basketball Championships.

Lady Rebels 5-0 overall; ranked sixth in Georgia

The Fannin County Lady Rebels soccer team continues to climb the ladder of success, sporting a 5-0 overall record, 2-0 in region play and a sixth place ranking in the state. The Lady Rebels’ most recent victory came against Dalton Academy Tuesday, February 15, in Dalton.
Copper Basin’s Cougars and Lady Cougars were all recognized Saturday night, February 19, after the Cougars claimed the District 4A Championship after beating Chattanooga Preparatory School 45-43 in the tournament title game. The Lady Cougars won the district title the night before with a win over Sale Creek at Sale Creek. Both teams advanced in post season tournament action.

The game came down to the last seconds, but, in the end, the Copper Basin Cougars had secured their spot as this year’s District 4A Champions in boys basketball. The Cougars played host to the Chattanooga Preparatory School Sentinels  Saturday night, February 19, in the tournament title game.
