Rebels named to all region teams

The Fannin County Rebel football team is coming off of a successful season, making it to the sweet sixteen round of the Georgia High School Association’s (GHSA) State Playoffs.

The senior class finished as the all-time winning-est class in school history with two region championships and four straight playoff appearances. Fannin County added to their accolades recently when GHSA released their first and second offensive and defensive teams.

Seth Reece was awarded the highest honor, the 2021 7AA Player of the Year. Reece accumulated 2,489 total yards of offense for Fannin, averaging 207 yards per game.

Reece was well balanced finishing the season with 1,116 passing yards, while rushing for 1,202 yards.

Reece also had 171 receiving yards, 31 touchdowns and 186 points scored.

The Rebels that made Region 7AA First Team Offense are receiver Hayden Lynch, offensive lineman Dylan Collins and offensive lineman Ricardo Arellanes.

Halfback Cade Sands made the Region 7AA Second Team Offense.

The Rebels that made Region 7AA First Team Defense were linebacker Cason Owensby, linebacker Andrew Waldrep, defensive back Carter Mann and defensive lineman Logan Long.

Defensive back Corbin Davenport made the second team defense.

Kicker and punter Jack Kantner made the First Team Special Teams as well.

Rebels that were honorable mentions include: David Mashburn, Sawyer Moreland, Taylor Collis, Nate Maloof, Jeremy Tammen, Bryson Holloway, Austin Garland and Carson Collis.
