Fannin Cross Country teams shine at meets

The Fannin County boys and girls high school and middle school cross country (XC) teams competed in Clear Creek at The North Georgia XC championship on September 21.

Fannin rolls past Pepperell Dragons

The Fannin County Rebel football team’s offense was powerful Friday, October 1, when the Rebels took on Pepperell in front of their home crowd. The Rebels were able to slay the Dragons 40-14 after trailing Pepperell 7-0 early in the first.

Cougars lose hard fought battle with Tellico Plains

The Copper Basin Cougars traveled up highway 68 north Friday, September 24, to take on Tellico Plains, looking to spoil the Bears’ 2021 Homecoming. Both teams shared a wonderful tribute to the late John Mullinax before the game, with his family in attendance.

Rebels roll past Gordon Central 52-7

The Fannin County Rebels traveled to Gordon Central Friday, September 24, looking to get off to a good start as they begin region play. Fortunately, for the Rebels, the Warriors were not much of a fight, handing the hosts a 52-7 whacking in Calhoun.

The Copper Basin Lady Cougar volleyball team cruised to a (3-0) win Monday, September 13, when they hosted the Tennessee Christian Preparatory School (TCPS). The Lady Cougars started off on fire as they claimed the first set 25-9.

Copper Basin falls to district foe Sale Creek

The Copper Basin Cougars hosted district foe Sale Creek Friday, September 17, in Copperhill, looking to get back in the groove after a lengthy layoff. The Cougars played well at times, but mistakes late in the game proved to be too much to overcome as the Panthers left with a 34-20 win.

The Fannin County Rebels traveled to Homer, Georgia, Friday, September 17, to take on the Bank County Leopards. Fannin shook off a slow start to take the game over in the second quarter and run away from the hosts for a convincing 30-13 victory.

The Fannin County Rebel and Lady Rebel cross country team traveled to Tallulah Falls, Georgia, Tuesday, September 7, to compete in the Cookies ‘N Quotes Cross County Meet. The meet saw 11 girls’ teams and 76 runners, while the boys’ team faced off against 13 teams and 105 runners.
