Lady Rebels beat Pepperell to stay perfect in region play

The Fannin County Lady Rebels kept their perfect region record intact Wednesday, January 19, when they hosted Pepperell’s Lady Dragons. Fourteen points from Ellie Cook and 13 from Courtney Davis led Fannin to a 57-31 win and a 6-0 record in Region 7AA.

Boggs scores 18 against Polk County

Class AA Polk County was too powerful for the Copper Basin Cougars when the teams met on the basketball court in Benton Tuesday, January 11. In their first of two meetings scheduled this season, Polk County put 64 points on the board while holding the visitors to 44.

Rebels bring home big region win with 64-62 defeat of Dade

Bryson Wright led a third quarter charge for the Fannin County Rebels that gave the team its second region win, 64-62, Friday night in Trenton, Georgia. The Rebels went toe-to-toe with the Dade County Wolverines for the first 16 minutes of the contest.

FCMS Lady Rebels win title

The Fannin County Middle School eight grade girls team went undefeated in four games to win the FCA Christmas Tournament at the Fannin County Recreation Center. Paced by a 14-point effort from Maggie Ledford, the young Lady Rebels defeated Gilmer County 36-26 in the championship game.

Lady Rebels declaw Lady Cats 64-40

Gilmer County’s Lady Cats had their claws sharpened in hopes of springing a senior night surprise on Fannin County Saturday afternoon, January 8, in Ellijay. But it didn’t take the Lady Rebels long to remove those claws and take the spring out of the Lady Cats.
Seniors were honored last Friday night when the Fannin County High School Rebels hosted Gordon Central. FANNIN HIGH SENIORS HONORED

e nior nights have become a rite of passage during high school sporting events. The festivities have grown to be filled with fond farewells and memories of the past. Not so for the Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball teams, especially the last two.

Fannin falls to Jefferson Dragonettes

The Fannin County Lady Rebel basketball team came up short when they faced Region 8AAAA opponent the Jefferson Dragonettes Wednesday, December 29, in the Kelly King Holiday Classic basketball tournament. The Lady Rebels battled and kept the game close, but ultimately fell 64-44.
