Lindsey places second in Wake Park National Championship

Thursday, August 4th, nine year-old Bosun Lindsey, of Mineral Bluff, finished second at the U.S. Wake Park National Championship in Auburndale, Florida. The event was hosted by the World Wake Association along with Nautique Boats.

The Rebels tested in preseason scrimmage

The Fannin County Rebels hosted Stephens County  for a preseason scrimmage Friday, August 12. The Rebels were able to see their reconstructed offense and defense work at game speed against the Stephens County Indians. The Rebels started off the first quarter on offense.

Players sought for annual veterans tourney

Sponsors are encouraging participants to register now for the annual Veterans Memorial Golf Tournament planned Saturday, October 1, at Butternut Creek Golf Course in Blairsville. The tournament begins with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start with a two-person scramble format.

The Fannin County High School football team and coaching hosted the annual Youth Football Camp for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade this past week at the High School Stadium. Camp organizers said about 100 athletes took part.

CBHS Cheer Squad captures honors

The Copper Basin High School Varsity Cheer Squad returned from a three-day camp earlier this month with a host of team and individual awards. The squad attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Cheer Camp at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville June 14-17.
