For the varsity Lady Rebels, Maddie Pelfrey earned the defensive award, and Peyton Slone earned the offensive award. Pelfrey also received the serving aces plaque. The Rebel award and the team award went to Kaylie Davenport. Senior Ava Queen was chosen as the Most Valuable Player for the Lady Rebels.
Many team members received the academic award. These included Blair Deal, Bailee Stiles, Aubree McClure, Ava Queen, Rylee King, Kaylie Davenport, Maddie Pelfrey and Cali Tuggle.
Ades said, “I am unbelievably proud of this team. They put in countless hours of practice starting last November to become the first volleyball team in school history to bring a Region Championship home to Fannin County High School.”
She continued saying, “We will lose our Senior Ava Queen this season and her leadership and talent will be difficult to replace. She is a one of a kind athlete. Next season starts today and our coaching staff is excited about the future of our young team. We measure success against our own potential and we haven’t reached it yet. We have more championships ahead and a state title to chase!”
