The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team took a victory over Christian Heritage, 64-35, Friday, February 7, as they geared up for the Region Tournament this week.
Fannin turned in their best eight-minute offensive effort in the first quarter as they outscored Christian Heritage 21-6, including five assists in the quarter.
The Lady Rebels continued with a strong first half, leading 34-17 at halftime and never looking back. Leading 40-25 in the third quarter, the Lady Rebels went on a 15-point run to pull further away.
Saidee Patton, Maggie Ledford, and Avi Ethington each hit multiple three-pointers for Fannin County.
The Lady Rebels controlled the paint, grabbing 41 rebounds, Emma Holloway leading the team with nine. The team also passed the ball well with 14 assists on 22 made baskets. Holloway led the effort with five assists. The Lady Rebels swiped 19 steals in the game, Patton setting the pace with eight.
Ledford paced Fannin County’s scoreboard effort with 14 points, Patton and Reese Lewis each added 11, Ethington scored 10 points, Holloway tossed in five points, Toccoa Hampton and Albany Cole each scored four points, Callie Ensley contributed three points and Brooklyn Owenby scored two points.
