    The Fannin County Rebels couldn’t keep up with Christian Heritage in the Region Championship game and took a 58-33 loss Friday, February 14, earning the title of Region Runner-Up.

    Hudson Ethington had a strong outing with 17 points for the Rebels in the loss.

    Trailing 4-3 in the first quarter, Christian Heritage went on a 13-point run to take the lead.

    The Rebels came out of halftime strong in the third quarter, outscoring Christian Heritage 12-8, but it wasn’t enough to secure a lead.

    The Rebels rebounded the ball well, collecting 32 rebounds. Jack Sparks led the team with eight rebounds. Matthew Ponton knocked down two shots from beyond the arc for the Rebels.

    Ethington with 17 points, Ponton scoring six points, Keaton Watkins adding four points and Kolton Kaylor, Cannon Holloway and Sparks each shooting for two points pitched in for the Rebels.The Rebels secured the #10 overall seed in their division and will host the first round of the GHSA state playoffs immediately following the girls’ game Tuesday, February 18, against Brantley County.
