Emma Buchanan and Avi Ethington each scored 12 points, as the Fannin County Lady Rebels defeated ACE Charter and move on to the Elite Eight, winning 64-35, Friday, February 21. Buchanan scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Lady Rebels dominated from start to finish, never trailing in the game and leading by as many as 30 points on their way to a victory.
Leading 5-4 in the first quarter, Fannin went on a 17-point run to pull further away and got out to a 36-15 lead at halftime before closing out the victory.
Buchanan and Ethington each hit multiple three-pointers for Fannin County Lady Rebels. The Lady Rebels controlled the paint, grabbing 37 rebounds. Buchanan led the team with 10 rebounds. The team also passed the ball well with 12 assists on 19 made baskets. Izzie Jabaley led the team with seven assists. The Lady Rebels also stood tall, blocking three shots in the game.
Buchanan and Ethington added 12 points, Maggie Ledford scored 11 points, Lewis had 8 points, Saidee Patton scored 6 points, Jabaley put in 5 points, Callie Ensley and Albany Cole added 3 points each and Toccoa Hampton and Emma Holloway both scored 2 points to pitch in for Fannin County total.
The Lady Rebels were scheduled to host Heard County in the Elite Eight Tuesday, February 25.
