Kolton Kaylor exploded for 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to carry the Fannin County Rebels to a decisive basketball victory past Dade County, 65-49, Monday, February 3.
The game was tied early at 20 points each when the Rebels went on a 14-point run to take the lead. The Rebels used seven assists in the second quarter on the way to outscoring Dade County 25-10. At halftime, Fannin County sat atop a 34-24 advantage.
Kaylor, Hudson Ethington, and Matthew Ponton each hit multiple three-pointers for Fannin. The Rebels rebounded the ball well, collecting 28 rebounds, Kaylor leading the team with 10. The Rebels passed the ball well as a team with 24 made baskets on 20 assists. Keaton Watkins recorded three blocked shots out of six blocked by the team.
Kaylor’s 24 points led the Rebels followed by Ethington scoring 17 points, Ponton adding nine points, Jack Sparks scoring six points, Watkins with four points, Cannon Holloway putting up three points and Brody Henson adding two points.
