The Fannin County Rebels wrestling team competed in the Area 5AAA Duals Saturday, January 11, in Dawson County.
The Rebels had a strong showing, finishing 3-1.
The Rebels faced off against Pace Academy first and was able to top the Knights 76-6.
The Rebels then faced the Lovett Lions and after going back and forth, the Lions were able to squeeze out a 33-30 win over the Rebels.
Fannin then faced Dawson for the third match of the evening.
The Rebels jumped out early and claimed a 65-15 win over the Tigers.
Fannin faced Lumpkin County for the final match and was able to edge out the Indians in a 42-35 thriller.
Fannin County head wrestling coach Chuck Patterson reiterated how proud he was of his guys, saying, “We are 29-7 on the year. The kids are committed and it shows.”
The Rebels will be at home Tuesday, January 21, for senior night.
