Fannin County Rebels win Amicalola Classic

The Fannin County Rebel wrestling team competed in the Amicalola Classic Friday, December 27.

The Rebels competed well and were able to bring home a first place finish. 

Fannin County faced Chestatee first and the Rebels were able to top the War Eagles 69-9.

The Rebels then faced Murphy and were able to top the Bulldogs 84-0.

Fannin County continued their hot streak against Heritage, winning 60-24.

Union County was next as the Panthers put up a fight against the Rebels, but Fannin County was able to pull off a 51-24 win.

The Rebels then faced Forsyth Central for the final match up and was able to pull out an impressive 57-21 victory to finish first in the Amicalola Classic.

Fannin won the dual and traditional portions of the Amicalola Classic, with individual placers including: Kainan Henson, first place (100th career win); Grayson Patterson, first; Levi Patton, first; McCay Turner, second (100th career win); Corbin Davenport, second; Ethan Mann, second; Tyler Stevenson, third; Kolton Stephens, third; Landon Galloway, third; Patrick Welch, third; Christian Newberry, fourth.

The Rebels then traveled to Creekview High School to compete against Creekview, Harrison, South Cobb and Allatoona.

Fannin performed well, but fell short against Creekview 55-21.

The Rebels bounced back however, beating Harrison 55-20 and South Cobb 63-12.

Fannin County faced Allatoona in the final match and made a statement with a dominant 69-3 victory.

Fannin County head wrestling coach Chuck Patterson was able to win his 100th duals win as a head coach as well.
