Lady Cougars sweep Polk County

The Copper Basin Lady Cougar volleyball team were firing on all cylinders Thursday, August 26, when they swept their in-county rivals, the Polk County Wildcats 3-0. In the first game, Copper Basin exploded offensively for a 25-11 win.

Lady Rebels roll over Chestatee to remain undefeated

The Lady Rebels are off to a hot start this year, handily winning their first two games. The Lady Rebels looked to remain unbeaten when they hosted Chestatee, Wednesday, August 25 and were able to get the bats going and win the game 14-6.

Lady Rebels start season undefeated

The Fannin County Lady Rebel softball team exploded for 14 runs in the first inning Tuesday, August 24, as they remained undefeated in the regular season, topping the Gordon Central Lady Warriors 15-2.

Fannin County cross country shines

The Fannin County Rebel and Lady Rebel cross country team met at Meeks Park in Blairsville, Georgia, to compete against Union, Gilmer, Towns, Rabun, and Lumpkin Counties. There were a total of 61 boys competing and 44 girls competing.

Lady Rebels compete in tri-match

The Fannin County Lady Rebels volleyball team traveled to Murray County Thursday, August 19, for a tri-match against the Murray County Lady Indians and the North Murray Mountaineers. The Lady Rebels played well but fell to Murray County 2-0 and North Murray 2-1.

Lady Cougars fall to Lady Patriots

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars hosted the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences (CSAS) Thursday, August 19. Both teams battled relentlessly, but it was CSAS that jumped out in front and won the game against Copper Basin (3-1). The first set started with CSAS leading 7-5.

The Copper Basin Cougars and Fannin County Rebels officially renew a rivalry that has not been played in 25 years, as they meet under the Friday night lights on August 27. Since 1982 the two teams have met 17 times with Copper Basin holding on to a narrow 9-8 lead in the all-time series.
