Lady Cougars fall to Lady Patriots

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars hosted the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences (CSAS) Thursday, August 19. Both teams battled relentlessly, but it was CSAS that jumped out in front and won the game against Copper Basin (3-1). The first set started with CSAS leading 7-5.

The Copper Basin Cougars kicked off their 2021 season Friday, August 20, hosting their long-time rival, the Polk County Wildcats, on a warm, muggy night in Copperhill.

Rebels roll over Panthers in 34-7 win

The Fannin County Rebel football team put on a show Friday, August 20, when they hosted the Union County Panthers for the first game of the 2021 season. It was the 30th all-time meeting between the two teams, as Union County led the series 15-14 before the game.

Fannin erupts to top Towns County 12-4

The Fannin County Lady Rebels fell behind early, but battled back for a commanding 12-4 win over Towns County to start their season 1-0. Natalie Herendon started in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Rebels, pitching five innings and striking out five Lady Indians.

Cougars look good against McMinn Central Chargers

The Copper Basin Cougars got their first taste of action Friday, August 13, as they traveled to Loudon County, Tennessee, to take on the McMinn Central Chargers. The Cougars and Chargers only played for one quarter in the jamboree, but there were many offensive explosions from both sides.

Lady Rebels battle Gilmer in preseason matchup

The Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team traveled down Highway 515 Thursday, August 5, to take on the Gilmer County Lady Cats for a preseason matchup. The Lady Rebels fell behind early but shook off the off-season fatigue late in the game to score six runs.
