Fannin explodes for 14 runs in win

The Fannin County Lady Rebel softball team put on a scoring clinic Thursday, September 9, when they hung 14 runs to claim a 14-4 victory over the Towns County Lady Indians.

Lady Rebels hang on for 3-2 win over Coosa

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebel softball team came away with a gritty 3-2 win Wednesday, September 8, when they hosted region rival the Coosa Lady Eagles. Fannin fell behind 2-0 early, but a big third inning gave Fannin a 3-2 lead.

Lady Rebels fall to Union County, now 3-1 on season

The Fannin County Lady Rebel softball team fell behind early and could not recover when they hosted the Union County Lady Panthers Thursday, September 2. The Lady Rebels fell to the Lady Panthers 9-1, with Union getting the bulk of their runs in the seventh inning.

Rebels lose battle against Sonoraville

The Fannin County Rebels traveled to Sonoraville Georgia, Friday, September 3, to take on the Region 6 AAA Sonoraville Phoenix. The Rebels came out with energy on both sides of the ball, but penalties plagued the Fannin offense as Phoenix was able to come away with a 32-0 victory.

Lady Cougars top the Tyner Lady Rams

The Lady Cougars volleyball team has been on a roll lately, and that roll continued Tuesday, August 31, as the Lady Cougars traveled to Tyner to take on the Lady Rams. The Lady Cougars topped the Lady Rams in three sets for a flawless (3-0) victory.

CBMS scores 32 points in loss to Bradley Knights

A high scoring offense from the Cougars was not enough Thursday, August 2, when they took on the Bradley Knights. Copper Basin led for the first half, but ultimately fell 42-32. Copper Basin drew blood first as Dontae Barber found his way into the endzone on a three-yard touchdown run.

FCMS cross country team finishes first

The Fannin County Middle School (FCMS) Rebel and Lady Rebel cross country team held their first meet of the season Friday, August 20, at Roper Park in Jasper, Georgia. For the Lady Rebels, they picked up a fourth place finish.

Trout stocking sites told

The Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery released its trout stocking sites for the week of August 23 through 27. The sites for Fannin County include Rock Creek and Toccoa River Tailwaters (below Lake Blue Ridge Dam). Information is subject to change.
