Fannin County High School football is back

The Fannin County Rebels football team unofficially kicked off the 2021 season with a scrimmage against Highway 515 rival Gilmer County Friday, August 6.

Veterans Memorial Golf Tournament to be held

By Glenn Harbison glenn@thenewsobserver.com The third annual Veterans Memorial Golf Tournament will be held this year at Butternut Creek Golf Course just outside of Blairsville. The tourney is planned Saturday, October 23. The event gets underway at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Fannin High School baseball hosts youth camps

By Caleb Collins caleb@thenewsobserver.com The Fannin County High School (FCHS) baseball team recently held four camps to help young athletes prepare for middle school and high school level baseball.
Bill Holt Chevrolet partnered with Chevy Youth Baseball and Softball and donated $1,000, as well as extra equipment, to the Fannin County Recreation Deptarment baseball and softball programs.
