Class AA Polk County was too powerful for the Copper Basin Cougars when the teams met on the basketball court in Benton Tuesday, January 11.
In their first of two meetings scheduled this season, Polk County put 64 points on the board while holding the visitors to 44.
The host Wildcats jumped out to an 18-11 first quarter lead and never looked back.
Joe Boggs paced the Copper Basin scoring by pouring in 18 points. Boggs was the only Cougar to break into double figures.
Evan Bobo added seven points for Basin and Reese Parris tossed in six points.
Ethan Queen, Eli White and Chase Hyatt all had three points. Conner Kimsey scored two third quarter points and Carder Lance sunk two free throws in the final period.
