Fannin County High School (FCHS) senior Reagan York signed her letter of intent Sunday, April 24, to play college basketball at Piedmont University. York has played basketball at FCHS all four years of her high school career.

Lady Rebels win 4-1 to advance to Elite 8

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) Lady Rebels made history with a big 4-1 win over Thomasville to advance to the Elite Eight in the state championship hunt. Nerves were at an all-time high as the first half started with both teams battling for ground.

DNR changes turkey limit

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources released a bag limit change for the 2022 turkey season. “Only one gobbler may be taken per hunter per day, and a season total of two gobblers. On Wildlife Management Areas and National Forest land, the bag limit is one gobbler per area.

The Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame (FCSHOF) held its 2022 Induction Ceremony Saturday, April 9, in the Epworth Community Building and school auditorium.

Lady Rebels win big

The Fannin County Lady Rebels soccer team secured their spot in the Sweet 16 after a 9-0 victory over Haralson County. The Lady Rebels started off quick with a goal by Mazie Goble, assisted by Madison Ponton just three minutes into the game.

Fannin track teams dominate region, other opponents

The Fannin County High School track team is continuing their streak by defeating region opponent Dade County as well as South Pittsburg, Cornerstone, Valley Head and North Sand High School Thursday, April 7, at Dade County High School.

Lady Rebels clinch region, host playoff game Thursday

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) women’s soccer team clinched the first seed and earned the title of 7-AA Region Champions with a victory over Dade County, Friday, April 9. The first half of the match started slowly for the Lady Rebels and Dade County was up one to zero at halftime.

Rebels win first of two games against Coosa

By John Spargo Fannin County hosted the Coosa Eagles for a region baseball doubleheader Friday, April 8, in Blue Ridge. The Rebels took game one by a score of 3-1, behind a super pitching effort by Jason Pearson. Coosa came back with a win in the second game by a score of 13-3.

Rebels maintain lead to secure region win

By John Spargo The Fannin County Rebels baseball team hosted Pepperell for game two of a three game region series Wednesday, March 30, in Blue Ridge. The rebels got on the board early, and protected their lead to grab a huge win against the Dragons by a score of 4-3.
